What's your most embarrassing running story?

I ran out of water on a warm day with no water source in site so I begged God for help. As I passed the entrance to a wealthy residential area, their ground sprinklers popped up! I ran over and laid on the ground to drink what I could from the sprinklers.

If you could watch a movie while running your next race, what would it be?

Probably Chariots of Fire. I think I saw it six times the year it came out!

What was your first race ever and what was it like?

I've been on competitive running teams since 3rd grade; I was fast. But my first long distance race was a 25k in Grand Rapids when I was 23. Then I was done until at 46 I ran my first Chicago Marathon and raised money on my own for World Vision. Since TWV came into existence in 2006, I've run in every Chicago Marathon since with TWV!
