CLEAN WATER IS LIFE

Nearly 1,000 children under the age of 5 die every day from diarrhea caused by contaminated water, poor sanitation, and improper hygiene. Furthermore, the average distance many women and children in the developing world walk for water is 6K (3.7mi).

But we believe the global water and sanitation crisis can be solved within our lifetimes. $50 provides clean water to one person in need and when you register for the Global 6K for Water you'll provide clean water to one person through your $50 registration fee ($25 for kids)! CHERU’S STORY

Cheru (pictured both above and to the right), 6, is one of 319 million people in sub-Saharan Africa who worry about where and how they’ll get enough water. Along with other children, she used to walk 6 km daily to carry water to school and home. Now the pipeline brings water to both places.

To the right we see Cheru benefit from a 16 km gravity-fed World Vision pipeline that brings clean water to her community.

The Global 6K For Water is a global fundraising effort to raise money to bring water to Cheru and to many other children around the world.
