TEXT AND CALLS

Enjoy catching up with family and friends and use the information from the points and script below to send texts and make calls. Get your friends and family committed to giving ahead of Giving Tuesday! If you attend a church, connect with people there. Instead of talking about Black Friday deals during Thanksgiving gatherings, talk up Giving Tuesday! Make a goal to talk to at least five new people.

 

Talking Points:

  • If you haven’t already, share that you are training for [YOUR EVENT] with Team World Vision.
  • Share your goal to bring clean water to [DIVIDE YOUR GOAL BY 50] people by raising [INSERT YOUR GOAL].
  • Explain why clean water and being a part of Team World Vision matters to you.
  • Ask for support on Giving Tuesday, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, a day meant to unleash radical generosity.
  • Ask for a donation when the Giving Tuesday Challenge starts: [6:00 am PT, 8:00 am CT, or 9:00 am ET] on December 3rd, where every dollar can become two, up to $600,000 nationally.

PRO TIPS

  • Pray for: the children who will drop their jerry cans because of your fundraising efforts, your potential donors, and your teammates. Ask God to reveal to you what your goal should be and who you should ask for donations.
  • Add your picture to your fundraising page if you haven't yet. See how here.

GIVING TUESDAY CHALLENGE GUIDELINES

Beginning at 6:00 am PT/8:00 am CT/9:00 am ET on Tuesday, December 3, we have a challenge to raise at least $1 million, bringing 20,000+ lasting clean water. Generous friends and supporters of our WASH programs provided challenge funds to encourage Team World Vision to maximize our Giving Tuesday impact. For every dollar you raise, Team World Vision will add a dollar to your fundraising page, up to $600,000 nationally.

Team members will see their Giving Tuesday Challenge funds hit their personal fundraising pages within two weeks. So, send those texts and emails, make those calls, and share the news on social media! This opportunity applies to online donations that occur on Giving Tuesday only, and until challenge funds run out. Challenge funds will not apply to cash, checks, or sponsorship credits.  DAF and wealth management funds will be included if initiated on Giving Tuesday and your Area Director or Event Director are notified. 

Use this extra boost to help you raise as much as you can on Giving Tuesday Day and use that as a springboard to continue making a huge impact, through year-end and all training season!
