Hey [INSERT FRIEND’S NAME], I’m [RUNNING/WALKING RACE NAME] with Team World Vision because it is unfathomable to think that 1 in 11 people lack access to clean water or a toilet! Dear [INSERT FRIEND’S NAME],

I’m [RUNNING/WALKING RACE NAME] with Team World Vision because I was shocked that 1 in 11 people lack access to clean water. For more than 700 million people, water is too far away to easily drink, bathe, cook, or clean. On Friday, March 21st, clean water is just a CLICK away with your help! (World Water Day is March 22, but we're celebrating on Friday, March 21!)

I have a goal to bring clean water to [DIVIDE YOUR GOAL BY 50] people by raising [INSERT YOUR GOAL]. I would love for you to join me and give the gift of clean water with a donation. BONUS: There is a live $1.5 million World Water Day Challenge for our team nationally starting at [INSERT 6:00 am PT, 8:00 am CT, OR 9:00 am ET]. So save this date and time so we can maximize our impact as part of the challenge!

FYI: I know it may sound crazy, but I will be training until [INSERT RACE DATE]. If you want to put a pep in my step, click the monthly, recurring gift option to encourage me during my entire training season. A donation of any amount means we are a step closer to solving the global water crisis, which is why World Water Day was designated by the United Nations.

SAY THANKS

Use the images below to thank those who generously donate to your fundraising page. Thank your donors as they give throughout the day. Tagging each donor with an individual shout-out is such a great personal touchpoint, and helps others see how they can get involved. Then, be sure to update everyone after World Water Day with the total amount they helped you raise. Divide that number by 50 to know how many people you were able to reach with clean water!

Remember that World Water Day is a springboard to continue your season of record-breaking impact! In a few weeks, follow up with people who didn't give on World Water Day.

CHALLENGE RULES

World Water Day Challenge

Beginning at 6:00 am PT/8:00 am CT/9:00 am ET on Friday, March 21, we have a $1.5 million live challenge. Generous friends and supporters of our WASH programs provided these funds as a challenge to Team World Vision to maximize our World Water Day impact. We want to help you take full advantage of this challenge and we want to help you participate! For every dollar you raise, Team World Vision will add a dollar to your fundraising page, up to $1.5 million nationally.

Bonus Challenge: Set your 2025 event fundraising goal to at least $20,000 (remember, there's no reason not to!) before March 21, and you will be eligible for up to $2 million of challenge funds on March 21 (through 11:59 pm PT). This special pool is to encourage radical generosity.

Use this extra boost to help you raise as much as you can on World Water Day and use that as a springboard to continue making a huge impact!

Team members will see their World Water Day Challenge funds hit their personal fundraising pages within two weeks. This opportunity applies to March 21 online donations only (bank transfers, credit cards, and PayPal). Challenge funds will not apply to cash or checks (offline donations) or sponsorship credits.  DAF and wealth management funds will be included if initiated on World Water Day and your Area Director or Event Director are notified.
