I'm running with Team World Vision to help provide clean water for communities in Africa. The needs are real, but we believe that we can end the clean water crisis in our lifetime.
$50 = clean water for 1 person.
I always have said that I would never run a marathon but this time last year I made that decision to do it. Even if you would have talked to me an hour before I made the decision to do this, I would have said that is off the wall- I would never. Then as I'm sitting there in Church listening to this cause and how it is coming to my Church, how could I say no. I couldn't- so I am going to spend a year training to run 26 miles.
So my journey really started 3.5 years ago. I was in a dark place and I had back issues that ended me up in the hospital yet again. A couple years prior to this, I was pretty much told that I had no hope for my back that I was heading to a walker. I went to a different chiropractor and probably 6 months before this episode and the big injection for pain, he told that I would need to do cross training to really "heal" my back (strengthen the muscles all around so the compression doesn't happen). This time in the hospital I made the decision to try it. Then I picked up running and because I wanted to stay at it, I signed up for a race. Around this same time, I joined a bible study that changed me completely.
After not completing it last year- I'll share the triumph even though it was 12 miles of it- who thought I would be here and now leading. But here I am again preparing for something I never thought I could do, let alone wanted to do. The Lord truly works in mysterious ways. Please support me and this cause. Pray on it and if you are ready for a change, join me on running to help us reach our bigger goal.
Will you invest in the future and provide clean water for 1, 2, 3, or even more people in Africa? We can help change lives, together.
Thanks for your support!
World Vision provides more clean water than any nongovernment organization in the world. They work with communities around the world to help solve the puzzle of poverty -- providing things like clean water, nutritious food, education, medical care, economic opportunity, and spiritual development.
