Last year I ran the Twin Cities Marathon with my Team World Vision friends. With your help I raised enough to help provide 60 kids with access to clean drinking water – thank you so much for helping make a difference in people’s lives!
This year I’ve been training with the running team again, but I won’t be able to do the Twin Cities marathon due to a scheduling conflict. So instead, I thought I’d substitute another marathon for my fund raiser and up the ante a bit at the same time.
This year’s marathon will be the one I’ll do after swimming 2.4 miles, and cycling 112 miles as part of Ironman Wisconsin on September 8th.
I hope you’ll also help me up the ante in the effort to help others gain access to something we so easily can take for granted: clean water.
$50 = clean water for 1 person
World Vision works with communities in desperate need to help provide things like clean water, nutritious food, education, medical care, and economic opportunity.
Things I like about World Vision’s approach:
Partnership: They team with communities they work in to reach solutions the people themselves believe will help.
Stewardship: They are efficient and effective with donated funds; in 2018, 86% of operating expenses went directly to programs benefiting children, families, and communities.
Discipleship: They take action to benefit the under-privileged and disadvantaged, regardless of faith; they help us be “the hands and feet.”
I hope you will consider helping me support this worthy effort. (see "Support Me" button at top right)
