I'm biking for the third year and second year leading the bike group with Team World Vision in Santa Barbara to help provide life-changing clean water to children and communities in the developing world.

Back in 2014, more than 1,600 children died every day from diarrhea caused by contaminated water, poor sanitation , and improper hygiene in the DR Congo. Now, after 7 years, 800 children under age 5 die every day from diarrhea. We still have a long way to go, and I believe the global water and sanitation crisis can be solved within our lifetimes.

Story about WHY we are doing this:
Story about Patricia (18-year old that lives with her grandma and she loves school). At 16, she was making four trips about 3 km every trip to get water from a stream, and she carried a 20 liter jerrycan on her head. The water looked clean, but it was contaminated because animals used the stream as a bath and bathroom.

Additionally, there were boys and men who deliberately stand on her path and harass and threaten her. Some of them even told her that they would carry her water for her if she would just sleep with them-every day, four times a day. One day, Patricia had to go on more trips than usual, and she gave in, got pregnant, and was expelled from school. Under the weight of motherhood and water challenges, she slipped into depression.

This year (2022) World Vision implemented a well 200 meters from her home, and she is now back in school and has a healthy baby! This is our impact on the communities in the DR Congo

I would like to invite you to join me in raising money to provide clean water for people in the DR of the Congo to help people like Patricia and prevent this from happening in the future. $50 is enough for clean water for 1 person, but any amount toward this cause would be amazing!

$50 = clean water for 1 person

Will you invest in the future and provide clean water for 1, 2, 3, or even more people?
