Last year, I took a leap of faith and signed up to run the Chicago marathon with Team World Vision. I had no idea what to expect, but I wanted to help make a difference to communities that desperately need help. Over the course of six months, I discovered what a privilege it was to be in a community that welcomed me with open arms, and they are some of the most kind, happy, and loving individuals I’ve met. World Vision took great care of us at every group run and the marathon from water/snack stations to cheerleaders to milestone celebrations. I’ve made wonderful friendships from my running group, and we still meet to run even though the marathon is over! This year, I'm  running again with Team World Vision to help provide life-changing clean water to children and communities in the developing world. I can’t wait to help make an even greater impact this year and once again participate with this amazing community.  

Nearly 1,000 children under age 5 die every day from diarrhea caused by contaminated water, poor sanitation, and improper hygiene. But we believe the global water and sanitation crisis can be solved within our lifetimes.
