I'm running with Team World Vision to help provide clean water for children and their families in communities in Africa. The needs are real, but World Vision believes that we can end the clean water crisis in our lifetime. Ok, those of you who know me know I can't run because of MS. So, I'm training this summer to walk the half marathon. This is a step of faith and a challenge for me to strenthen my legs, my endurance and to stay on my feet with the ability to continue to walk. My granddaughter Ashley will walk with me for safey and will finish the miles that my body won't let me walk. But Im already walking 3 miles.
And if you know me then you know my passion for meeting needs of older adults and people with special needs. My life has been so much richer for that. I also choose to invest in organizations that better the lives of people in need. The lack of water affects people!
If someone asked me, what motivated me to walk 13 miles? I would honestly say, I am not sure other than an opportunity to do something good for someone else, while at the same time pushing myself to new limits in training and building strength.
When I say pushing, I mean PUSH. Training for the walk will take commitment. Actually completing the walk will take strength and determination. It’s going to be hard, but so worth it because I’ll raise money for a Children in need, accomplish something I never thought I could do personally, with MS.
I’m inviting you to help me make a radical impact on the clean water crisis in the in Africa. Your generosity will help us look beyond our own challenges. Step out in faith with me and invest your full effort and heart into ending this crisis.
When you give, you are contributing to a movement already in motion. I’m inviting you into something extraordinary: providing clean, safe water to communities for generations. Every child deserves clean water.
World Vision provides more clean water than any nongovernment organization in the world. They work with communities around the world to help solve the puzzle of poverty -- providing things like clean water, nutritious food, education, medical care, economic opportunity, and spiritual development. This approach tackles the root causes of poverty, enabling children to experience fullness of life.
$50 = clean water for 1 person.
Will you invest in the future and provide clean water for 1, 2, 3, or even more people in Africa? We can help change lives, together.
