*Campfire afterparty following walk!
On May 19 we are once again hosting the Global 6K for Water. This is an event sponsored by World Vision to bring clean water to children and their families around the world. The distance is significant: six kilometers (approximately 3.7 miles) is the average distance people - usually women and girls - walk to get water for their families and homes in the developing world. Often the walk is dangerous, children miss school, and the water is dirty.
We would love to have you join us! It’s a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon with your family and friends, enjoying the outdoors and raising money for a very important cause. The route will be on the gravel roads around our house, and you can choose to walk or run. Afterwards we will gather for some great fellowship and a campfire - complete with hot dogs and marshmallows!
Every $50 registration fee will provide life-changing clean water to one person. (Children under 18 can sign up for just $25. You can also donate to the team without registering for the walk.) When you register, World Vision will send you a Global 6K for Water t-shirt and a race bib with a photo of the sponsored child that you’ll be walking or running for. As part of the Evangelical Covenant Church, all of our sponsored children will be from the Democratic Republic of Congo through Covenant Kids Congo - a unique ministry partnership between the ECC and World Vision.
This spring, change a life. Join us and advocates across the globe in the mission to bring clean water and fullness of life to children in communities around the world.
