Starting on May 1st, 2022, I will be running across the entire continental USA, starting in San Francisco, CA, and ending at my home in Rehoboth Beach, DE. This will be my longest run ever, crossing the country on US Route 50, America's loneliest highway in 75 days.
My goal is to raise $100,000 for World Vision's clean water work around the globe, for children and families to have access to clean and safe drinking water. At an average $50 per person to receive clean water that lasts, that's 2,000 people that will have their lives changed because of this run and your support.
More than 800 children under age 5 die every day from diarrhea caused by contaminated water, poor sanitation, and unsafe hygiene. But we believe the global water and sanitation crisis can be solved within our lifetimes. Water is life, and children's lives are transformed when they have access to clean water.
World Vision is the leading nongovernmental provider of clean water on the planet, reaching one new person
with clean water every 10 seconds. In 2021, World Vision celebrated the achievement of helping 20 million people around the world get access to clean water. In addition, by providing hygiene behavior change support and sanitation facilities, such as latrines and handwashing stations, the health benefits of clean water are multiplied through reduction of the spread of illness and disease.
Will you join me in my run across America to bring life in all of its fullness to children across the world?
