In February, I'm going to run a half marathon... Most of you are probably shocked to hear I've signed up for this- that makes sense because I am still shocked I signed up for this. In years past, the most athletic thing I've usually participated in is fantasy basketball. I've never been a "runner" and I know this is a HUGE goal/challenge, but I heard about Team Worldvision at my MOPS group at All Saints over a year ago, and I have not been able to stop thinking about them and their mission ever since. I think about how some women walk almost 20 miles a day for  water- I think about how much water my kids and I drink daily and we never have to pause and wonder if it's clean. That is why I haven't been able to stop thinking about pushing myself to join this team and raise funds and awareness. If they can walk that far each day, I can push myself and train to run 13.1 miles for one day.

I'm running with Team World Vision to help provide life-changing clean water to children and communities in Africa.

Nearly 1,000 children under age 5 die every day from diarrhea caused by contaminated water, poor sanitation, and improper hygiene. But we believe the global water and sanitation crisis can be solved within our lifetimes.

$50 = clean water for 1 person

Will you invest in the future and provide clean water for 1, 2, 3, or even more people?

World Vision provides more clean water than any nongovernment organization in the world, providing clean water to one new person every 10 seconds. They work to help communities lift themselves out of poverty for good by addressing issues around clean water, hunger, health, education, economic empowerment, and child protection. About World Vision
