Its me again. I did this two years ago and it was super rewarding. It was a cold, wet run, but the amount of money our team raised to provide clean water to impoverished people in Africa was just incredible. I'm pretty busy this year, and in a lot worse shape, but two weeks ago I heard a representative talk about again....and I just HAD to jump in. I'm slower, creakier and busier, so training will be a challenge. But its not about me. Its about US jumping in together to provide children and adults with water....clean, refreshing, life-giving water....something you and I take for granted every day, yet so many desperately need and die without on the continent of Africa. I'll be running (walking, crawling) with Team World Vision on May 5 in Orange County. 13.2 miles. It'll be longer and harder this time...but nothing compared to how far so many walk in a lifetime for a jug of water. It is true that WV is making a serious dent in the providing water to Africa. They say that together, we can END the clean water crisis in our lifetime. What a thing to be involved with...run for, get sore doing. Will you join me?
$50 = clean water for 1 person.
Thanks for your support!
World Vision provides more clean water than any nongovernment organization in the world. They work with communities around the world to help solve the puzzle of poverty -- providing things like clean water, nutritious food, education, medical care, economic opportunity, and spiritual development.
