Yo Heartland! We are running with Team World Vision for the second year to help provide life-changing clean water to children and communities in developing countries. But this is not just for runners. If you have ever wanted to do something about global poverty, say YES. You can do this.
Last year 236 Heartlanders said YES and raised over $160,000, bringing clean water to over 3,200 people! To break it down, that is clean water for TWO villages! Think about that, there are two villages that will have life-changing water because we chose to be arrows out!
Why do we know you can do this? Well, Team World Vision provides everything you need to cross the finish line: training plans, weekly email encouragement, fundraising guides and incentives, and an incredible race weekend experience.
If you are wanting to know more about the race you can join us for 3 "open houses" or "vision nights" where we will talk about our goals, the work Team World Vision is doing, and remind ourselves why we run! Dates will be announced soon!
On June 9th we will have our launch lunch again on the dock following the 11 am service, so be sure to put that on your calendar.
If you have not joined the Heartland Team World Vision Facebook group please do! We'll be sharing updating, training information, and event information regularly there! Find us there at https://www.facebook.com/groups/hccTWV/.
In Africa, there is a saying: "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." Join us and let's go farther together!
World Vision provides more clean water than any nongovernment organization in the world. They work with communities around the world to help solve the puzzle of poverty—providing things like clean water, nutritious food, education, medical care, economic opportunity, and spiritual development.
