Hi Friends and fellow Clean Water Warriors,

Once again we are a host site for World Vision's Global 6K for Water set for May 18, 2024. Join us at 1155 Cadillac Dr in Platteville, Wisconsin at10:00AM. The 6K will begin and end at our home and we will celebrate with food and clean water following the race/walk. 

Why 6K? That is the average round trip distance people walk each day to fetch water that is usually unsafe to drink. 

There are still 770 million people who lack access to clean water. Every day more than 800 children under 5 die from diarrhea caused by contaminated water, poor sanitation and unclean hygiene practices.The global water crisis hits girls and women the hardest. From a young age, they are the water carriers. It's estimated that women and girls spend 200 million hours hauling water every day - lost hours that translate to significantly reduced opportunities for education and income. This is a problem that can be solved. There are many things we can't control, but this is something we can! World Vision is the largest non-governmental provider of clean water in developing countries reaching one person every 10 seconds with clean water. 

 Join tens of thousands of people around the world to walk or run 6K. Join us at our home or walk/run wherever you are.

The registration fee to register for the Global 6K for Water is $50 for adults and $25 for youth ages 18 and under. Each registration provides clean water for one person for a lifetime. Upon registering for the 6K, World Vision will send you a t-shirt and a race bib with a photo and the name of a child you are helping along with a medal.
